Stand by people, within hours there should be a new version of MetroTwit released which will bring many bug fixes but more importantly URL shortening and even theme, accent and colour support.

URL Shortening has been one of the most requested features of the Metro inspired, Windows Twitter client and this addition should allow more people to use the application.

Take control of links with an intuitive URL shortener that automatically saves you space and time tweeting. At the same time, worry less about where obscure links might take you by simply hovering over it.

There will be two themes in the update for MetroTwit, a light version and a dark one; the current version of MetroTwit is the light theme. But in addition to this there will be the option to colour the MetroTwit design with accents. It will even be possible for the application to match with the user’s Aero Glass colour so it can fit in better with one’s PC.

Choose between dark text on light background and vice versa plus a selection of color accents to personalize the design. Better yet, match the application with your Aero Glass color for a more consistent look.

If you haven’t yet used the Twitter client I thoroughly recommend it, you wont have used anything quite like it before and if, like me, you love the Metro UI then you will love this application. You can download the latest build from here and the application will automatically update when the new one is released, you can also expect to see a few tweets from me about the new version being released.
